Asking for a Hustler

Introducing Second Opinion - a newsletter for fundraising founders

Big news today from Hustle Fund. But first, a story.

A few years ago our team met two guys named Mark and Alex – co-founders of Deck Doctors. We'd met a bunch of deck designers in the past, but Mark and Alex were different. Rather than just increasing font size and aligning text, the Deck Doctors dug deeper into a startup's pitch deck. They explored a startup's entire storytelling strategy. And in doing so, have helped 100+ founders book more meetings with more investors.

Our team at Hustle Fund started working with the Deck Docs on our own fundraising efforts. Then we began sending our portfolio companies to them. Over a year later, we've referred dozens of startups to Deck Doctors, co-hosted a webinar with Mark and Alex, and published an ebook alongside them.

Long story short... we trust these guys. We believe in their unique ability to help founders fundraise more successfully. And we love that they genuinely want to help founders – even founders that aren't their clients.

So... back to my announcement

Starting on Tuesday, December 5, we'll be co-publishing a newsletter with The Docs. The newsletter is called "Second Opinion" and it's all about delivering tactical feedback on real-life pitch decks submitted by real-life founders.

How it works

A bunch of founders have already submitted their decks to be reviewed by filling out this form. 🥴 The page is hideous. I designed it, not the Deck Doctors... can you tell?

The Deck Doctors review the decks and record a video with tactical suggestions on how to improve it. Then Hustle Fund shares it with our founder + startup audience.

Our aim: to help founders land more meetings with investors.

There is no money exchanged, no favoritism, and no judgments. The first edition of Deck Doctors is scheduled to go out on Tuesday, Dec 5. After that, we'll publish editions every two weeks, highlighting different startups in each edition. The feedback videos are short (10 minutes or less) and provide about 3 tactical suggestions per startup.

If you want your deck to be reviewed, just fill out this hideous form.
